Christmas with the Fams

Time for more presents!!!! The weather didn’t put us in a Christmas spirit, but rooms full of wrapped gifts and family always helps! Being with your parents adds the extra touch! CS with his fav gift of the year.

I was so happy to get some MukLuks slippers from Colorado! I want to wear them everywhere!

A pair of matching penguin mugs to cap off our evening…

… after my Mom’s tasty peppermint dessert…

… it was so cold, CS had to warm up over the yule log fire.

Off to our next family holiday event! Teenager presents. Just ask them what they want. No disappointment. No returns.

Miss Kate Spade made an appearance from different loved ones for me! I do adore her.

I will always welcome her and all my loved ones into my home. Happy Holidays to all my dear friends!

Tool Organization

My brain never stops trying to organize every aspect of my life. When CS asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year, I thought it was the perfect opportunity for him to help me at something I knew he’d be able to make happen. In my laundry room, I have open wall space around a mounted shelving unit. Over the years, I’ve put random hooks to hold stuff, then moved them, leaving me with scarred walls that could provide some much needed storage. Then I had a tool bag that the tools ripped the pockets because of how I stored the screwdrivers and pliers. It was time to upgrade! I explained I wanted a pegboard environment so I could move things around as I increased my tool box and wanted things easily accessible instead of digging in a box. Also, was tired of my nails, screws, etc in tupperware. I wanted a drawer system. He planned, shopped, then went to work. Started with pieces of this….

CS had to build frames for each side so that the hangers would actually go through the pegboard. This is why I never tried this myself! He cut an angle piece for the left and put up a full one on the right. As soon as he showed me them, I dreamed of making them fashionable instead of just utilitarian. A quick trip to Wally world and $6 worth of contact paper left us with this beautiful result! Left side:

Next came the pegboard accessories. CS got a variety of hangers that allowed me to organize all my tools visually to put those I used most at my finder tips! It helped me clean up my shelving bins too!

I am over joyed with the final result! CS delivered exactly what I wanted. Kudos to his engineering skills! I am running out of things to organize at my place. Call me. I’ll go into withdrawal soon.

Hit another Train concert this year thanks to the fast thinking of this genius!

Tickets went on sale and she immediately nabbed 4 for our same group since we had such a great time last year.

This time, floor seats @ the new Pepsi Coliseum!

It was all about the light show this time. Was really cool to see.

They had a new album out, so I had to practice in my car. Alot.

Signed up to escort these 2 hooligans to Colorado over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Moms has an airport apprehension and always wants to arrive super early. And the “busiest travel day of the year” didn’t help my timeline. She did really well and was only a few minutes early picking me up. When we got to the airport, damn the crowds.

Not even a single person in line at TSA before us. I’d never experienced that before.

This monster surprised us while we were waiting for our ride into Longmont. She “learned” how to cross her eyes and was constantly showing us during night 1. Ok. Um. No. She really thinks she’s doing it.

A lot of this happened, too. She likes to be close, real close. I was the sick one this time so I was comfortable feeling like I wouldn’t catch the bird flu from her this trip.

I awoke to a fresh Thanksgiving morning!

And after a great meal, a crisp warm night.

Got a chance to hit some trails to make a trek up Mount Sanitas in Boulder, CO. View from the top!

Hello Boulder!

Passed a huge rock formation on the way down.

A man and his dogs…

Now that I have had a few experiences with dogs who run with you, IF I ever get another dog, he/she must be able to run with me. So much fun watching these guys and having them keep you company while you are out doing this miserable sport.

In addition to the USA holiday, we had another celebration during our trip. Team Shart’s leader turned 4-0. His neighbors knew that the black color normally associated with 40 would excite our birthday boy. So they went with pink. And luckily his truck was parked outside that night so it got dressed up for the day!

We were able to take in a soccer game for Reagan. Look how excited she looks!

She was a little nervous about all of us watching her play. There aren’t many girl teams in the area, so this group chooses to play against the boy teams just so they can get practice in the off season. Way to go ladies!

The whole trip was a wonderful family event. We did start a Noah’s ark for each niece this trip as part of their Christmas from Nana and Papa. During the supplies trip, I got B to jump at the sight of a random live snake outside of his cage at the pet store. It was amazing! However, I did enjoy returning to my kid-free, allergy-free, pet-free condo in the Midwest. Clean air is about your own definition. Much Love to the Fuller excursion crew!
