How quickly a year goes by! It was time again for the PRC Stars of Pink Fashion Show. Before I had a chance to fill my table with locals, my Mom had 4 friends that wanted to come to the show! I love it when my friends and her friends get to hang out!
During the program, the Board members are asked to help out with collecting pledges from the audience. Not having any better ideas from the Board, we used pink boas to call us out in the crowd. Mom had to have a picture of this! I kindly stroked my nose with my middle finger while she got her camera ready.
New part for me this year was being in charge of the model training, runway program and music. Usually our fashion sponsor is in charge of these things. I will admit I was terribly anxious about this role the week before the show because I didn’t get the model groups until 4 days before the show. The groups drive the length of time on the runway which drives the music. Last year we had terrible dead spots in the entries to the runway for the group shots. I was not letting that happen again! I applied my analysis and planning skills to this new role and it went swimmingly! The production crew wanted me on a headset to cue lighting and music changes during the runway walks.
My key advice for the models during our morning training… No one in the audience knows if you are suppose to pose, walk, turn left or turn right. So don’t act like you messed up because they don’t have a playbook sitting in front of them telling them you messed up! It’s not like sports and they are going to collectively say “ohhhhhhh” when you exit stage left instead of right. Can’t wait to watch the play back on DVD.
Much love to my Mama for supporting my cause! Many more to come for both of us! Wonder if we’ll ever work on one together…
