Third Times A Charm

Previously. Previously.

I can’t get enough Fitz! And now I know they release more tour dates as they go on tour. I’m a sucker but I love introducing new people to them. CS even enjoyed it!

Then he repaid me with a date night concert the next night. Holiday inspired martinis did not disappoint. We had to get some class before we made it to our venue.

Untitled

I bet most people were at the concert to see the headliner.

Untitled

We were not. CS was interested in the openers. And no one was right up front, so let’s take a spot in the front row to watch Citizen Zero rock out.

Untitled

Untitled

We watched the roadies tune and test the equipment. Then they would go to back area of the stage, take off a hat or a sweatshirt and came out as Citizen Zero. Fake roadies saves money! But there was a mascot, sort of.

Untitled

We were there to see Adelita’s Way. I found them back in 2009 with their first single, Invincible. Rick was rockin’ the Grandpas cardigan look. Not the head banging outfit I was expecting but a great show, up close and personal.

Untitled

We listened to 1 Scott Stapp song then left. Sorry Scott.

Repeat Fitz

Previously. Time for a road trip with my resident make-up advisor!

Untitled

After a quick oh shit moment, we made a hot stop at the Macy’s make-up counter to get some touch ups done. They were closing in 45 minutes and the Bengals game just let out. These girls were eager to help us.

Untitled

You have to look good when seeing Fitz & The Tantrums! Sing it please!

I act like a fool hearing this music. Actually witnessing it, I’m a woo girl. I love these guys! On the drive, I did make a plea to them.

fitztweet

I got my wish!

Untitled

I wonder how much a confetti cannon operator makes?

Music Mash Up

Been to a bunch of concerts this year, mostly new bands and one repeat. CS found us a Halestorm concert with opening act Lita Ford. I’ve been off the heavy music scene for awhile, so it was nice to get back to some head banging-ish.

On an unseasonably cold May evening, we settled in for some Ellie Goulding.

Untitled

Giant screens are all the rage now.

Untitled

K keeping me warm.

Untitled

Paint me up and lets dance! Do you know this album cover?

Untitled

Got to see Fitz and the Tantrums again in an intimate Bloomington, IN venue. I love seeing these guys up close. I just feed off of their energy.

Untitled

Untitled

Left straight from work and still had 7500 steps recorded on my Fitbit doing my best Noelle impression.

Next up was Chad’s favorite, the gorgeous Gwen.

Untitled

Even from our seats you could see how incredible her body is.

We rounded out our summer back outdoors at White River for Ray Lamontange. Rumor was he didn’t have an opening act and felt he didn’t need one. Excuse me?! We sat and waited about 90 minutes for him to take the stage. He’s lost my future ticket sale if he continues down that path.

At least 3 more to concerts to go!

Another One In The Books

Another birthday rolled by. Bring me presents! Puzzles are still a favorite gift. Meerkats

A new amazing game!

Tiny stuff

And sparkly stuff

IMG_6293

Had a bash with lots of friends and family.

IMG_6351

Then followed it up with a new band in a new venue. We arrived and it was a small crowd. Ok, let’s get right up front then!

IMG_6354

CS found the band based on our similar liking of Pop Evil and Red Line Chemistry. Red Sun Rising!

IMG_6367

IMG_6372

IMG_6376

It’s been a slow heavy music scene in Indy lately. It was nice to get the headbanging motion going again.

Ol’ blue eyes

My HLP was ready for a date. Yes please!

IMG_6418

Bring on the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra!

IMG_6414

I sent the picture above to my Dad. His response, “It’s about time you 2 do something classy.” I have no idea what he is talking about.

Specialty drink of the night, Ol’ blue eyes. 4 cubes 2 fingers of Jack and a dash of water. Yes please!

IMG_6417

4 different singers rotated through Frank Sinatra’s library of songs.

IMG_6421

Even the Ol’ Gray Hairs came out.

IMG_6420

As we were waiting for our valet, I was able to ‘share it forward’ with a couple about the stem cell therapy my Dad just had. Felt pretty good.

Lights

As K and I arranged our next major concert, I realized I hadn’t checked my music emails in a while. So on a Thursday night, I found a concert I wanted to see on Saturday. But it was near Cincinnati. Could I talk K into it? Luckily she had family living 6 blocks from the venue. No arm twisting needed. Roadtrip!

But before we got there, Karma led me to meet Pam.

IMG_5216

As soon as I saw Pam, my eyes went straight to her necklace. I’d only ever seen one like it before. Who doesn’t need a gold road runner on a chain?! It’s my pimp chain!

Untitled

After a friend’s mom passed away, he didn’t know what to do with all her jewelry. So he let some select friends take a few masterpieces from her collection. I was drawn to the roadrunner. It was so unique. Pam said she gets compliments every time she wears it. I need to break mine out!

Before the show, we had to a make a stop at the bar with the most bourbon I’ve ever seen. I think Angels were singing when the door opened.

IMG_5393

IMG_5218

I had no idea where to begin. Told the bartender/owner what I liked and asked him to surprise me.

IMG_5220

Delicious sippers!

IMG_5217

After missing the opening act Phases (strange coincidence though as we will see them next year), we caught the tail end of the Mowgli’s set before our headliner.

IMG_5222

IMG_5244

I was impressed. Lots of change ups with who was the lead singer. The Mowgli’s included the lost Hanson brother. He must be terrible at singing MMMbop.

IMG_5245

Lights on stage!

IMG_5269

IMG_5248

IMG_5282

Lights is her name, not the bands. Strange, but I had a total chick crush by the end of the show.

Not only can she sing, she plays guitar and keyboard.

IMG_5344

IMG_5324

This venue was very intimate. It was an old house turned into a music venue. View from the 2nd floor.

IMG_5389

Only complaint was the smoking section of the bar @ the venue. You could smell it before getting in the house. Thank small town Kentucky venues. Keep believing it’s an ok habit to support.

Summer Tunes

Ready for some live music!

IMG_4450

Our headlining act was….

IMG_4445

He has been around for quite some time, yet strangely his song from 2007 is the one we all could recite, Come On Get Higher.  Next act was The Fray! Another new score for me. Bonus they are from Colorado!

IMG_4447

Love their blend of styles. So soothing at times. I have used them as my wake up alarm. But on to the main act, Train!!

IMG_4475

All 3 acts went into the crowd. Pat was especially connected with us as he probably took 50+ selfies with the front line. It is amazing how much social media comes into play. (Says the old lady)

IMG_4492

To bring the crowd even more into the show, giant beach balls!

IMG_4501

One landed in our area. Photo op!

IMG_4506

All 3 acts came out at the end to harmonize. I really do enjoy this type of thing. Stuff you never would hear otherwise.

IMG_4511

Who’s up next?

V

Who’s ready to see Adam Maroon5?!

IMG_3668

Previously.

They had extended the stage into the crowd. I was pumped to see how much this would get used.

IMG_3674

Magic opened the show.

IMG_3681

Then came Adam. So pretty. I’ll let the pictures tell the story.

IMG_3802

They came out for the encore with Sugar. We knew they wouldn’t end the show without playing that one.

IMG_3808

Looking forward to my next Maroon 5 show!
