Who’s the winner of the 2017 Motown Blues Christmas contest? Say hello to Motown Philly!
It’s all about the details people! We passed out CD singles offering autographs throughout the night.
EWolk wanted to borrow my wig and get a photo with the Crew.
This might not have been the Motown LA expected, but damn we are creative!
Waited 2 years for this show with our killer seats!
The best seats in the house were the fans. Not fans in the crowd. Really fans. Fans that made her hair blow like the wind. It wasn’t stellar but at least we saw an icon perform in our city!
It’d been 8 years since I saw the BoDeans. And seems like 8 years since I’ve been to the Vogue in Brip.
Let’s put age aside (ours and theirs) and enjoy the show!
Laser lights and disco ceiling were in full affect. I repeat…. Let’s put age aside and enjoy the show!
Thank you Naked.
ET with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra?! This is going to be amazing! I toyed with bringing my ET to sit on my lap. Then I thought, no don’t be a fool. Be classy. Then, they had their own display! Dang it!
Tons of people were taking selfies with it. I could have made some $dough$ if I brought my guy… who talks too!
I was going to sell him… maybe not now!
I was hanging out after #Corporate Challenge volleyball to cheer on the cornhole team. Amazingly, free U2 tickets were being passed out. WTF?! I’m not a huge fan, but not a hater so yes I’ll take free tickets! Lucas Oil Stadium transformed for some music.
Once I started saying to peeps we are going to the show, everyone else was too! Let’s see it! They opened the Joshua Tree tour with power on the walk-about stage.
I was impressed with the lights. Sometimes, I’m just a little kid loving sparkles.
Bring me my sparkles!
We were ready for some 24 Karat magic!
Hello Bruno! I’ve missed you!
Great set, great sounds, and great hip moves! This band knows how to get it done.
Mucho thanks to CG for the close up sweet suite seats!
Travel. Travel. Travel. Love it! But I was ready to kick off my shoes and hear some music in the Lawn!
These kids invited us to go see Third Eye Blind with them. Because I love 90s music anyway, I didn’t do any research on their more recent stuff. So I went in prepared to be underwhelmed by some cheesy 90s band. Boy was I wrong!
Not only was the company with the V’s great, TEB put on a helluva show!
While I enjoyed “Semi-Charmed Life” & “How’s It Going to Be”, I loved their later stuff too. Definitely being added to the playlist.
Let’s roam over to St. Louis!
Just as we finished up at the Arch, a storm rolled in. Seems like I’m cursed with rain on my first day of travels lately. San Diego, St. Louis, Seattle… geez.
We made it back to the room just as the rain hit.
Once that burned off, we were ready to rock out at Busch Stadium with Volbeat and Metallica!
What you can’t see in the pictures is the drizzling rain that came back. Everyone was getting wet. Thanks to our ticket snobbery, we were relaxed and dry.
The stage was magnificent! 5 huge video screens played vibrant images of the band.
And who doesn’t love it when they add fire! You could feel the heat from our seats. I can’t imagine what it felt like on the floor.
The crowd loved every bit.
“It’s unbelievable after 36 years we’re still up here making this noise,” Hetfield told the crowd. “I can’t believe you still like this.” Yes sir we do!
As soon as we got home, Metallica Guitar Hero battle ensued.

A new reason to get fancy!
Grabbed a few friends and attend the annual fundraiser for the Indianapolis Children’s Choir. It was not just another chicken dinner.
Everything was so delicious!
I heard the dessert was great, not my thing but it looked pretty!
We didn’t win anything in the silent auction. Maybe the live auction will treat us better! We didn’t get the front row seat, this guy did… well, I guess that’s ok since he and the Mrs. were the event’s Honorary Chairs!
We were treated to several songs by the different choir groups. Several. Feedback to the group would be to cut down some songs. It was a long event. Long.
Very grateful for the experience!
Time for more music @ the Deluxe!
Red Sun Rising bailed as an opener. Bummer. Bad Flowers kicked us off. He reminded me of AAR cracked out lead singer. That concert a few years back was so disappointing, I didn’t even blog about it.
They used the whole stage.
Can’t believe it had been 5 years since the first time I have seen Pop Evil.
Stop watching through your damn phones people! You are blocking my view too!
For the encore, Leigh got down into crowd. I’m glad no one was a douchebag and did anything stupid. I want these guys to keep coming back!
We had a clue this was going to happen.
