Shiverrrr Me Pumpkins

Previously.

With so much October fun this year, we were left to the last weekend of the month for our own jack-o-lantern party! But damn it’s cold outside! This carving party was moving indoors. We consolidated all the food into the kitchen to free up 2 tables inside.

Untitled

Loved that I was able to add candles and skull lights to the decor this year!

Untitled

Untitled

Also added pumpkin shaped carrots, thanks to Pintrest!

Untitled

One part I love the best about this get-together is entertaining the kids. WTF you say?! These faces say it all. Even the kids congregate in the kitchen!

Untitled

Being surrounded by family and friends is priceless.

Untitled

After being inspired at the best jack-o-lantern spectacular I have ever seen, my  pumpkin this year needed a wicked smile!

Untitled

Goal achieved!

Untitled

Later, I stumble upon (thank you Karma) people in the Yip Yip outfits!!! Ah-mazing! So relevant in my timeline!

Untitled

This green guy was not as excited to see them or us.

Untitled

We capped off our night with crazy Halloween eye lanterns! I love the detail our friends put together.

Untitled

Then on the real day, I was able to top it all off with my Minnie accessories straight from Disney!

Untitled

Halloween needs to be more than once a year!

Jack O My Lanterns

A few years ago, a friend told me about a Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular down in KY. It sounded neat, so I put it on my To Do list for a later time. This year, it came time to check it off! Who wants to go with me?

IMG_5237

These guys did! The event boasts 5,000 jack-o-lanterns carved by area artists. 5,000? I didn’t even know what that meant. I knew this would be cool, but I had no idea the grand scale this show was about to be. This guy broke mascot code by talking. Boo. I still needed my pic!

IMG_5239

Luckily a co-worker had gone the weekend before and gave me some great tips about the long wait we would have to enter Iroquois Park. We took snacks to keep the energy up and finally it was pitch black and time to see this thing! Holy shit, it was amazing from the first step!

IMG_5244

My camera won’t do these jack-o-lanterns justice. The precision that these artists have was unbelievable! Recognize these guys from Sesame Street?

IMG_5243

Amazing Cheshire cat display!

IMG_5251

Oh Johnny!

IMG_5252

This hummingbird one caught my eye. It lit up so beautifully.

IMG_5255

Our whole party just kept saying, “I can’t believe it!” We were absolutely dumbfounded.

IMG_5264

Then you turn around and they have jack-o-lanterns in trees!

IMG_5266

Really high up!

IMG_5267

This artist even made an Otter on a pumpkin look cuddly.

IMG_5272

Stole this from CS much better camera phone. This exhibit is put on by Passion for Pumpkins Inc., a multimedia production company with over 27 years of experience in redefining fall by transforming any landscape into an illuminated organic gallery. (Excerpt from their website) They thought of EVERYTHING! Even dancing twinkle lights shooting up into the trees.

I titled this one, Pumpkin Butt.

After we finished and picked our chins up off the ground, we all agreed. We’ll be back again. This is a sight to see over and over.

Definitely need to level up our carving party this year!!

Pink Time

Previously.

I love and dread when October arrives. I’m so excited to celebrate the annual Pink Ribbon Connection Fashion Show, yet I am still so nervous about my role in the event. This time around I was ready to keep my nerves at rest and realize, I got this. I up’ed my procedure game this year and was able to create exactly the detailed calendar plan I needed to. It kept me focused and not stressed. Even the Marriott said Welcome.

Untitled

First order of business was getting my sound partners the songs. I wasn’t jazzed about all of my choices. After getting a CS opinion, I swapped out 2 and was thrilled to submit the line up!

  • Burn it Down – Fitz
  • What about us – Pink
  • Most Girls – Haliee Steinfield
  • Unstoppable – Sia
  • Happy – Pharrell Williams
  • Scars to your beautiful – Alessia Cara
  • Finale – Uptown Funk – Bruno Mars

The food is always presented so beautifully.

Untitled

And so has been my beautiful date for the past few years!

Untitled

He even got to help out with our jewelry extravaganza. I invited several new friends to my table this year. Even had 3 survivors!

Untitled

After a long morning of practice, I was ready for my CommSet to get the show started. My long time pal KingShots capturing our gorgeous models!

Untitled

Markey’s provided a stunning new back drop that brought our show up to the next level!

Untitled

The music and the models were a hit! Happy and Uptown Funk really got the crowd going. Signing off until next year!

4th of July Weather

Last 4th of July was soooo cold.

Untitled

This year, we had a bit of heavy rain for 10 minutes.

Untitled

But we all were prepared!

Untitled

After that rainstorm shit, we got to enjoy this!

Untitled

Ahh let’s relax tonight… or let’s box and I’ll taunt you with my low blow punch moves!

K sent me this AMAZING video because she knew of my love for this guy.

Whoever buys me my own Trex costume for Christmas is my new best friend. “Just sayin” Then I saw this… might have gone too far with the Trex costume on AGT.

Untitled

Clearly Trex arms are not meant for pole dancing.

14hr : 41hr

25% drive time for 75% memory making time… pack it up and let’s head to KC for some family time. Let’s go on a boat!

Untitled

The paddle boards even made the trek West. We had a new taker ready to try it out. The low center of gravity always helps.

Untitled

Weird thing about this lake, the trees are petrified into the soil so these barren wood sticks shoot out of the lake everywhere! Not just the coast line, literally in the middle of the lake too. Watch your props people.

Untitled

Ok, next activity, let’s take in a Royals Game!

Untitled

Felt like a wolf-pack moment. First game for this kid!

Untitled

I was intrigued by the vendor’s carrying methods.

Untitled

We didn’t get a Royals win, but it was a win to be together.

Untitled

Sunday, was down time day. Just hanging out, lots of pictures, and 2 important birthdays to celebrate. But the highlight of my trip, was this…. I scored myself a new best friend.

Untitled

I think it was our matching hair styles! Every one that entered the room, whether it was their first time or tenth time entering, they got with a finger point at me “Hey, that’s Natalee!” Every time he entered the room… “Where’s Natalee?” Cuteness achieved!

Let’s See-attle Some Orcas (Day 2)

I’ve been waiting for this moment my WHOLE LIFE! Bring me my orcas!

Untitled

Our boat arrived for the last tour of Orcas in Puget Sound. Cool thing about this boat was it had a front open bow and stern.

Untitled

So the driver said “Hold on!” We are going to cruise out at 40 MPH to get us to the whales as quick as possible. Then you can get out in the open air. Good man, let’s go!

Untitled

When the first dorsal fin showed up, I cried. I’ve had a dream of seeing Orca whales in the wild since I was a little girl. It took all I had not to jump in and just let life take it’s course!

Untitled

These creatures are AMAZING!

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Ocean hair, don’t care!

Untitled

We were very fortunately to run into a super-pod of Orcas. About 20! AHHHHHHHHH! So that meant a few pods got together for some socialization and play. The boat crew lowered a mic down into the water and you could hear them communicating to each other. AHHHHHHHHHHH! This was an experience on a whole other level. Normally you only see 3-4 at a time. We got 20. Thank you Orca Gods for blessing us with this experience! I will never forget it.

I’ll work on some better video. For now, here’s a short clip. Look for the fins and water sprays from them breathing out the blowhole. Think white water misting.

PhilHarmonious

Mom signed herself up for a new fundraiser to support the Fort Wayne Philharmonics. Which signs us up for work duty. Our first task 6 months ago was to come up with the event name. During our brainstorming lunch at The Merdian, CS took the prize and named the event PhilHarmonious. We all agreed it was a great name! Now it was time to celebrate.

Cold pea mint soup? Come on.

Untitled

Half a spoon was enough for me and the Herbs.

This evening’s special guest was a prior White House Chef, Mr. John Moeller.

DSCN0113

I believe he delivered a wonderful menu, I may just have one of the most bland palates on the planet who will never enjoy something like this. The steak came out looking amazing yet not to my bland palate. Now Mimi, would have loved the temperature of this dish. Hair dryer style. Dad and I, we want less pink.

Untitled

Our wonderful server was able to bring us some more well done steak and our table started trading like a swap meet so that everyone really enjoyed their meal. Dessert was a replica of our Chef’s cook book cover.

Untitled

I did try a bite and it was delicious! Throughout the evening, I was privileged to meet the people that keep this organization running like Andrew Constantine, their Music Director.

Supporting my Mom and all the Foundations she supports, I tried my luck at the jewelry surprise…

Waaah-whhhah. 21 was picked! Whatever. Nothing can ruin the fun I always have with these good looking people!
