Just Ignore It

Ever feel like shit physically but only in your upper body region? I’ve had allergy issues of gigantic proportions lately. It’s the worst because I have no cure other than to medicate and deal. Mucinex D, Zyrtec, vitamins, cough drops, Afrin. My ears sound like clogged silly straws when I blow my nose every 10 minutes. You are welcome for that idea. I was over it. Even though I am allergic to life, my ass was showing up for the Holliday Park Trail Run. It fuels my soul. I’ll ignore my pain.

It was 40 degrees and ugly cloudy. But the course turned out ok and my shoes fared well on the terrain. ¬†I was under an hour for 5 miles and that was A-OK with me. After the race, I laid on the couch with warming blankets. K said let’s go watch basketball. Urg. I was in no mood or position. I was miserable. I had to pass. Luckily she invited me Sunday too. Ok, let’s ignore this crud and move on! We got to watch Michigan move on past Louisville! Go Big 10!

Wichita almost moved on passed Kenturkey. And hot off the press,¬†Krzyzewski is done. I’m not a Duke fan. Always root against them, really surprised Duke conceded (or seemed to) with 8 seconds to go. The 4 solid minutes I spent on my bracket feels about right. Now if I can just get my head to feel right…

Pay It Forward Works!

I was on my way to work. Had some wiggle room in my commute, so I turned into Starbucks to get a breakfast sandwich. Me hungry. Egg-bacon-gouda, delicious! I let a car go in front of me from the side exit. Everyone is going somewhere but I had time to wait.

The Starbucks gentleman hands me my sandwich as I hand him my credit card. “No need. The girl that was in front of you paid for your sandwich. She said thanks for letting her in line.” My face and mouth dropped. It works! I love it!! Please pay it forward! #bekind2oneanother

Gala Girls

Previously.

Mom and I ditched the boys for a girls night out at the FWMoA annual gala. As usual, our dresses matched the theme of black and gold.

Untitled

Not usual, Mom was off the hook for running the event. We were able to relax, mingle, and enjoy the evening. Another not usual was that I enjoyed the first course meal, a delicable salad.

It still came with a cold crab bisque soup that one of my tablemates gladly helped themselves to seconds.

The room looked spectacular again using very simple decor.

Every year they have the Fill The Frame open donation period during the live auction. Besides bidding on a few silent auction items that catch my eye, I always give $100 to FTF. It’s for charity! This year they had a new fundraiser. 100 Gold boxes priced at $100 each. As we are sitting there waiting for the program to begin, the emcee announced only 6 boxes were left, “Buy a box and get a chance to win a $3,000 necklace.” I didn’t even know what the necklace was. I just looked at Mom and said, “If I’m going to give a $100 anyway, why not take a shot?” I went over to the where they were selling them. Which one do I pick? To justify my pick, I chose the box closest to the necklace.

I returned to the table and began eating and chatting. When the time came they said unwrap your box to reveal your number then announced, “The winning number is 15!” I look down, that’s my number!!!

A beautiful Tahitian pearl with 22 round and baguette diamonds. Me likey! Me lucky!

Basement Rock

Time for more music @ the Deluxe!

Red Sun Rising bailed as an opener. Bummer. Bad Flowers kicked us off. He reminded me of AAR cracked out lead singer. That concert a few years back was so disappointing, I didn’t even blog about it.

They used the whole stage.

Can’t believe it had been 5 years since the first time I have seen Pop Evil.

Untitled

Stop watching through your damn phones people! You are blocking my view too!

Untitled

For the encore, Leigh got down into crowd. I’m glad no one was a douchebag and did anything stupid. I want these guys to keep coming back!

We had a clue this was going to happen.
