We woke up to a beautiful crisp blue sky!
Tiny Peter was very excited to see the beach for the first time in his life!
He even sent his mom a postcard.
Since the weather was decent, we opted for a few outdoor activities for our first day. Ft. Morgan was up first.
I’d never been to anything like this before. Interesting to think about the time it was actively used and manned with soldiers to protect Mobile Bay.
Once at the top, you could see how expansive this place was.
CS was rocking the architecture pics. Me checking the guide to see what this part of the Fort was. It was where they heated up cannon balls to shoot at wooden ships and start the ship on fire!
Next stop, the Alabama Zoo. I read this place was fantastic and had animal encounters. Yes please! Who would of thought this place tucked away all these animals.
They had lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, a big ole alligator named Chuckie, birds, reptiles, and the ones I wanted to see… Lemurs! But not behind a cage…
For an extra $10 you got to play with 4 lemurs. I made the whole famn damily join in the fun!
These guys were so freakin’ cool! They would launch from the wall right onto your head. Which one did to CS right as we sat down. I saw it go down in slow mo and couldn’t get a warning out to him. I envisioned this lemur ripping CS’s ear off, but turns out they have hands like a baby. No claws. Just really soft fingers.
Mom and Dad were naturals.
Mama, always trying to feed everyone and every thing!
Tiny Peter didn’t go to the zoo because I didn’t want to show him what prison looks like for his kind. We took a break for lunch at the Oyster Bar. When I wasn’t looking, the mascot tried to have him for lunch!
Our last outdoor experience for the day was a bit of shopping at outdoor mall, The Wharf. Such a great first day of vacation!
