K and I had another date night and they keep getting better! Our date consisted of a pumpkin-event at Timmah's then a concert at Carmel's new Palladium. Timmah lives about 200 yards from the venue, so it made a perfect location for us to park and hangout at before the show. Since we were all fancied up for the show, we opted not to carve (or paint) pumpkins this year. Why were we fancied up, you ask? Well, not just for date night, but our concert was The Bacon Bros! Some of you may be saying "Huh?" or "Who?". Not me. I've been lusting after a huge fan of Kevin Bacon since I saw him shake his tush on Footloose. It was solidified after watching Wild Things, if you get my drift.
This wasn't my first time seeing the band either. Back in 2001 they played at the Vogue, a small Broadripple venue. Fast forward 10 years, and they are now playing at the newest state-of-the-art 1700 seat concert hall. Due to this, our tickets were a little pricey, but it was worth it to get to see my #2 from row #6.

We didn't know if there was an opening act or not, so luckily we didn't wait to get there. They started promptly at 8pm and I started promptly taking photos at 8:02pm.

I could not stop staring or taking pics. I don't care if it's 1984 Kevin Bacon or 2011 Kevin Bacon, he's hot. They played a lot of new stuff which I don't have yet due to recent computer issues, but will be purchasing shortly. Michael, the lesser known Bacon Brother, mainly played guitar, but busted out a cello and a violin at one point. Kevin played guitar, bongo, tamborine, rainstick, basically anything that made noise. I was ready to stand up and dance the whole time, but the crowd around us seemed a bit too... let's say... frail to be gyrating to music. So I just bopped around in my seat clapping and seat dancing. They motioned for everyone to stand up, at what would be the final song before the encore. Finally! They played a few more songs for the encore before calling it quits.
K and I walked back to Timmah's with hearts in my eyes and my chin on the ground. I was star struck, but the best was yet to come. Prior to the concert, Timmah's lady said to call her when we got done and she'd come over and stalk the band with us. WTF? Living so close, she knew where the tour buses parked and did this with Darius Rucker when he played there. Sign me up! When we got to the spot, there was a whopping 3 people waiting. A Mom, Dad, and daughter. Our group was 6 girls 25-35 giddy to meet Kevin Bacon. A few minutes later, another Mom and daughter joined the line. And... that was the groupie total. 11. A few members of the band came out first and didn't pay much attention to us. I guess they are used to not being the center of attention for fans (or were confused by the random group of loiterers). Then Michael and Kevin came out. Michael didn't care much either. Which I'm a little sad about because it would have been nice to get a picture with him, but this is what has made my year...

YEAH-AH! 1 degree baby! Much love to K for organizing! Now if I can figure out how to meet #1 Johnny Depp, I won't need a top 5 anymore.
