And we're off...

Last night was the T.N.T. series finale at Horizon. I've raced here before but in completely different conditions. No advantages were to be had. When I signed up for these races, I was not aware there was an overall series award for the top 3 places with the with the lowest 3 cumlatives times (in the 5 events). I have been pleasantly suprised by getting awards each time (Eagle Creek West, Eagle Creek East, and Southwestway), so I was a bit nervous-excited to see how I was going to contended for the overall awards. I went into the race 2nd place overall but after watching the rain pummel us before the start (and with rain the days prior), I knew my main focus was not to get injured and F'up my race this weekend.
Off we went, and on came the mud. There were a few hellaious climbs due to the sliding, but I grabbed on to branches and trees to make my way up. Came around a corner and the photographer grabbed this shot that I swear is in 3D for my lasik eyes.

Crossed the finish at 28:02. Not too shabby for the conditions and I didn't fall, so it was a success!

Waited for the awards with Papa and... Age group winner 30-39! Had to think of a new pose... can you guess what it is?

Next came the overall awards. After a little mishap with the manual calculation of scores, I did hold on to my 2nd overall place and got a trophy! After seeing the photos today, turns out the 1st and 3rd place girls were right at the start with me but appear to carry much less weight than I do!
