Signed up for my next race today. Guess it's more of an event than a race. In your best Monster Truck impression... "Innnntroooducing the Mudathlon!" The event advertises:
These themed events will be 3 to 4 miles of off-road running, featuring lots of mud, over 15 challenging obstacles, and an outstanding post-race party.
After reading the waiver, who wouldn't sign up for this?
I hereby assume any and all risks involved in or arising from participant in the Mudathlon, including without limitation... partial or total diability, paralysis, and death.
Participant... hereby declare that Participant is physically fit and does not suffer and has not suffered from... recurrent blackouts or giddiness...
My Leadville race waiver last year was similar but quoted lightening strikes! Awesome! I know they have to disclose all this stuff for legal protection, but it still cracks me up to read "death" in a waiver.
My group has 3 and counting. We selected the 9:45 am start time, so do the same if you're looking for some not-so-clean fun! And comment if you sign up so we can carpool!
